I've set up two new Windows 8 Pro Sony Vaio laptops today connecting them to our company Domain (Server 2008) one was really easy, no real issues, set up the VPN connection to the office clicked connect and it was in.

Verify that your VPN IP address, username, and password are all correct. Open the VPN client and go to VPN Properties > Security tab > Connection type > PPTP.
